Olympic Thratre Arts Center

Building History

Olympic Theatre Arts was founded in 1980 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization of community volunteers. These dedicated thespians worked out of leased facilities for over 20 years.  Their facility became a safety hazard to the public and OTA was forced to move. In 2001 they purchased an old church in the cultural center of downtown Sequim near schools, museum, and the Boys and Girl’s Club. Renovation began in 2003 and the OTA Board of Trustees is now the steward of a $1.5 million dollar cultural arts center.

1929  First home of the United Methodist Church. The facility housed soldiers from World War II and was the home of the first Harvest Dinner.

1989   Boy’s and Girl’s Club of the Sequim Dungeness Valley serving youth in the area for ten years.

2001  Purchased by Olympic Theatre Arts non-profit organization to meet the need of the community for a ground level performing arts center.
